0600 today, Monday morning saw the arrival of the new recruits. Day 1 allows us to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the recruits now they have assembled as a group. The expectation by the end of week three is that there will be a noticeable improvement We went through cat, active cat, downward dog, plank, yoga lunges with cardio, and a short balancing sequence. Oh, and yoga squats with the tail tucked under–guaranteed to work the legs 10 times harder. The Yoga Studio spent an hour after this mornings session working out a sequence with a surprise guest trainer. We don’t know whether to bring in the surprise as a ‘reward’ … or a ‘punishment’ …this is a Bootcamp after all!
All recruits Limber, Lightness, Re-Fresh, Giraffe-Woman, Epaulette, Free, Beroca, Fighter, Positive, Namaste, Phoenix, Strong, Grace, you are welcome to add comments using your e-mail address and codename. Signing off [Sergeant Bootcamp]

Who am I? What will we do?
It’s a different world at this time of the day. I like it. Found a few areas which I need to be a bit more gentle with and which could do with a bit of WD40.
Should there be punishment in a yoga bootcamp when we are told to remember the yama of ahimsa?
What a surprise to have the police turn up to train us at the bootcamp this morning! Another nice paradox, really. I can feel it in the abs already thanks.
Excellant application of the yamas, giraffe-woman! Sometimes the difference between the reward and the punishment is in the perception. Punishment as such would work against Ahimsa non-violence from your yoga trainer and non-violence from self. Let us know whether the guest trainer was a reward or a punishment – this is yoga–and it is also a bootcamp–ultimately stepping safely outside the comfort zone will brings its rewards.
