Day 6: Candlelit Yoga builds Vitality

by Director on October 2, 2007

Today’s sessions were a hard-earned ‘regeneration’ sequence. As important as it is to use tapas to push yourself out of routine, it is important to acknowledge ahimsa-non-violence to the body, to allow it time to let-down, heal, and build muscle. Sergeant Springer and Gong’s reward was to see the relaxed and refreshed faces as the recruits filed out one hour later. Psychologically, pushing yourself constantly, even in Yoga, can build up an aversion to the activity. We want your body and your yoga to be a joy to come back to rather than a duty.

Hi Sergeant Springer
Our bootcamp this morning was amazing … love those kidney massages!
I understand that different postures work and massage different internal organs but I never know what ones.
It was great this morning to know we were working on our kidneys. Fantastic !!

Hi Sergeant Springer

I found circuit difficult this morning, not a good difficult, more a frustration. If felt I didn’t grasp the postures and then felt I was “all-over-the-shop”.
I did not leave feeling energised like I have previously when you have been up front working the postures with us.

I felt sloppy and disconnected!

RE: feeling sloppy and disconnected. “Thank you for reporting in, Bubbles. That’s not a nice way to feel, is it? Considering that we did a lot of breathing with the HA/HA/ breath, had you considered that perhaps the breathing had brought up some feelings? Breathing works very deeply to pull up feelings that are often locked away in the diaphragm. Sergeant Springer did notice that the postures were quite new, and different for lots of recruits, so there will be more time spent on showing exactly how to do them, as that may have contributed to the issue.”

Hi Sergeant Springer

This mornings Bootcamp was great! I feel very energised again. I did appreciate you showing us exactly what was expected from the “step” posture … that really did help me!

Great morning … fantastic way to start the day.

Have a great weekend.
